The capital under the management of the Group is held in custodial trust, by instruments executed at the constitution of the house and amended four times since.
The Marlowe Holdings Group is the custodial arm of the line. It holds, on behalf of the line and of those for whom the line stands, capital which has been entrusted to it by the trust instruments executed at the constitution of the house. Those instruments are referred to in the language of the house as the trust instruments, and the principal among them as the founding letter.
The Group acts as custodian, not as principal, in the conduct of the trust. Its officers hold no beneficial interest in the assets under custody, save as members of the line. The line itself stands, in the present generation, in the place that the founder appointed.
The instruments are not published, nor shall they be. Their existence is recorded; their language is not.
